Section 01

What the Peer Group is.

A private, peer-led organization for senior mortgage executives who lead community bank mortgage operations. It provides a confidential environment where members share experiences, compare results, and improve performance through collaboration and benchmarking.

Twice each year, members participate in the Executive Forum — a two-day, in-person working session focused on business strategy, operational performance, peer collaboration, and financial benchmarking.

The Peer Group complements — and does not compete with — the MBA, The Mortgage Collaborative, Lenders One, and other industry organizations. It is a member-run organization with no vendors, no sponsorships, and no purchasing agreements.

Section 02

How the Forum works.

Two half-day working sessions. Members travel in, stay one night, and return the following afternoon.

Benchmarking materials

Day One

Peer Advisory Session

A Featured Member presents an in-depth overview of their mortgage operation — strategy, organization, financial performance, challenges, and future plan. The remaining members serve as a peer advisory board, asking questions and sharing candid experience.

The remainder of the day is member-driven discussion on profitability, capital allocation, staffing, compliance, technology, secondary marketing, and the mortgage-bank relationship.

Day Two

Financial & Operational Benchmarking

Approximately 30 days before each Forum, every participating institution submits its mortgage P&L and a standardized reporting package. Results are consolidated into a confidential peer benchmarking report reviewed together during the Forum.

Section 03

Seven principles that hold the group together.

01

Confidentiality

Trust is the foundation. Members speak candidly, knowing that shared information stays confidential.
